Delete Search Navigation Link in SharePoint using PowerShell

The example in this topic show how to use PowerShell to Delete Search Navigation Link in SharePoint

  • # Provide credentials over here
  • $creds = (New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential "<<UserName>>",(ConvertTo-SecureString "<<Password>>" -AsPlainText -Force))
  •  
  • # Provide URL of the Site over here
  • # If you do not wish to pass credentials hard coded then you can use: -Credentials (Get-Credential). This will prompt to enter credentials
  • Connect-PnPOnline -Url http://MyServer/sites/MySiteCollection -Credentials $creds
  •  
  • # "Location" describes location of the new Node. Either (1) QuickLaunch, (2) SearchNav or (3) TopNavigationBar
  • $navigationNodeCollection = Get-PnPNavigationNode -Location SearchNav

  • # Enter the navigation node title to be deleted over here
  • $navigationNode = $navigationNodeCollection | Where-Object { $_.Title -eq "Search Navigation Node" }

  • # If parameter "-Force" is applied then on the execution of command, it will not ask for confirmation
  • # -Identity represents the Id of node object to be deleted
  • Remove-PnPNavigationNode -Identity $navigationNode.Id -Force

  • Disconnect-PnPOnline
